The Rose in the Flames

Sometimes we just can’t put life experiences into words. This is especially true of deep wounding or exquisite happiness. The words do not do justice for the depth of feeling. If the pain came before we could speak, the words were never there, but the experience lives on in our body. Authentic Movement helps us to use our bodies to more fully express ourselves. In so doing, we feel freer and more liberated as we can start to release the ties that bind us. It also helps us understand more fully how we live our lives in the wider world – are we limiting ourselves, active, passive, inquisitive, sad?

On June 7th, we will join together to talk about the importance of metaphor on the spiritual journey and to take images into our bodies as we use movement and simple art forms to learn more about ourselves.

This time will be based on the BodySoul work of Marion Woodman, Anne Skinner and Mary Hamilton.
